The ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED (UX5304) is only 1 cm thick and weighs 1 kg, making it the thinnest and lightest 13.3-inch OLED laptop in the world.

ASUS will soon bring the world’s thinnest and lightest 13.3-inch OLED laptop to Indonesia. Named the Zenbook S 13 OLED (UX5304), it not only appears as one of the thinnest and lightest OLED laptops, but is also the most environmentally friendly of the Zenbook series.

The Thinnest and Lightest 13.3-inch OLED Laptop

The Zenbook S 13 OLED is an ultra-thin and light ultra-portable laptop that is only 1 cm thick and weighs 1 kg. To achieve these specifications, this laptop is made using sophisticated techniques and special materials so that it can appear more compact and lighter.

In order for the Zenbook S 13 OLED to appear with a very thin body, the ASUS engineering team embedded a smaller but still full-featured IR FHD camera and planted it directly into the screen part which was made with a CNC process.

In addition, a thinner OLED panel is also used, so that the laptop screen becomes 30% thinner. Precision CNC processing is used not only on the screen, but on the main body so that the component space becomes wider without sacrificing durability.

The Zenbook S 13 OLED also uses a circuit board with fewer layers, higher cable density and more transistors. This design by ASUS provides better performance with lighter weight in a more compact space.

Meanwhile, the motherboard is precision engineered to house two ultra-thin fans that increase airflow for better cooling. Everything makes the main body of the laptop appear 25% thinner.

To minimize the weight of the Zenbook S 13 OLED, a magnesium-aluminum alloy is used in the keyboard deck which is CNC-treated to create a sturdy structure without the need for additional support parts.

Ultra-thin glass covers are also used on the touchpad, resulting in an additional 25% reduction in thickness on the keyboard deck. The combination of advanced manufacturing techniques and high-quality materials results in an ultraportable laptop like never before.

The Zenbook S 13 OLED has succeeded in taking the thin and light laptop concept to the next level and without compromise. This laptop offers battery life of up to 14 hours of video streaming and offers better cooling and performance than its predecessor.

Environmentally friendly

ASUS’ main commitment through Zenbook is “Do more with less”. Zenbook S 13 OLED is a product developed with EPEAT® Gold certification. Because of this, this laptop has an environmentally friendly and internationally recognized life cycle.

Starting from materials and manufacturing processes, assembling, using, and recycling processes at the end of life, the life cycle of the Zenbook S 13 OLED has been designed to leave no more carbon footprint so that it becomes an environmentally friendly laptop.

The Zenbook S 13 OLED is the most eco-friendly Zenbook series laptop ever made. This laptop utilizes industrially recycled magnesium-aluminum material and is used in the keyboard cover, chassis and parts of the screen, reducing its carbon footprint by more than 50%.

The buttons and speakers on the Zenbook S 13 OLED are also made using recycled plastic. Not only that, the Zenbook S 13 OLED packaging is also 100% recyclable, with materials that can be reused as compost.

Zenbook S 13 OLED packaging uses 100% FSC Mix certified paper from responsibly managed forests, controlled wood, and recycled resources. The support section in the Zenbook S 13 OLED packaging can even be reused as a laptop stand.

Unlike other laptops, the Zenbook S 13 OLED is equipped with a plasma-ceramic aluminum body. Materials made with these proprietary processing techniques use only pure water and electricity, requiring no organic compounds, strong acids or heavy metals.

Interestingly, this special method not only produces a body that is resistant to corrosion, has better durability, and has a long service life, but also minimizes the impact of damage to the environment.

The Zenbook S 13 OLED also has very high energy efficiency and has exceeded the ENERGY STAR® standard of 43%. All of these efforts are presented so that the Zenbook S 13 OLED can be present as a “zero carbon emission” laptop.

The Zenbook S 13 OLED is an ultra-compact laptop equipped with multiple I/O ports so users don’t need to carry a dongle or adapter with them when traveling. Two USB-C® Thunderbolt™ 4 ports support fast charging, 4K external displays, and data transfers up to 40 Gbps.
