New moon phase
On May 8, 2024, a new moon phase visible in the night sky across Indonesia is expected to occur. This phenomenon is expected to be visible at 10.21 WIB. When this phenomenon occurred, the distance between the Earth and the Moon was approximately 366,739 km.
Full Moon Phase (Flower Moon)
This full moon phase is expected to occur on May 23, 2024 starting at 20.53 WIB. When this phenomenon occurs, the distance between the Earth and the Moon reaches 390,647 km with a half-moon diameter of 15 ‘17.35”, so that the full moon appears in full circle.
About the Flower Moon or Full Moon in May itself, quoting from the site Almanac, this name refers to the flowers that grow in the garden in the spring. Other names for this Full Moon are the Milk Moon and the Corn Planting Moon.
Phases of the Moon at Perigee

Meteor shower philosophy
The meteor shower that occurs in May is the Eta Aquarids meteor shower. According to the site NASA, the Eta Aquarids meteor is known for its speed, with the meteor traveling at about 148,000 mph (66 km/s) into the Earth’s atmosphere. This meteor shower can move quickly and last several seconds to minutes.
Generally, there are about 30 Eta Aquarid meteors per hour seen at peak. Reported by the site PlaceThe Eta Aquarids meteor shower is active from April 15 to May 27 and is expected to peak on May 5-6, 2024. The Eta Aquarids meteor shower is best viewed from or near the Southern Hemisphere equator, although people at some northern latitudes can also see it.
