“I thought the American dating culture was really weird,” Astrid said during her conversation with Luk Alloo. In the United States, it is normal to date several people at the same time. “The American mentality is really completely different,” it continues.

Furthermore, according to Astrid, it is also a lot more difficult to make friends in the US. “After fourteen years, I still had no American friends. Neither does my husband, for that matter.” Astrid’s brother, who currently still lives in America, also only has European friends. “They are more superficial in that area.” Now that Astrid lives in Belgium again, she says she is also much happier. “I really relax here.”
