Vaccination was burdened with very high and inadequate expectations, according to Assoc. Prof. Atanas Mangarov.
It was thought that if everyone was vaccinated, things would end. However, these vaccines, which were created in a few months, contain only one antigen – that of Spike – the rosehip protein, he commented at a press conference today in BTA.
It is not a problem for the virus to bypass this protein, and this is observed in all countries where there is a high percentage of immunized. It can be seen that in Great Britain and Israel, half and more than half of the cases of newly infected are among those vaccinated, Mangarov said.
According to him, people who have naturally produced any of the variants of COVID do not get sick – neither from Delta, nor from Beta, nor from Alpha.
It is good that there are vaccines and that they have been created. The bad thing is that the time is very short and they could not be tested according to the rules of medical art, said Mangarov.
Everyone who gets vaccinated does so at their own risk – whether they understand it or not, he added.
