Robert Herbin, 81, has been hospitalized for a few days in the intensive care unit of the Saint-Etienne teaching hospital.
It was as a result of heart problems unrelated to the Covid-19 pandemic that the legendary coach of the epic Greens, weakened in recent weeks, was admitted to the Saint-Etienne hospital.
Arrived in ASSE in 1957 at the age of 18 from the Nice Cavigal, he accompanied the reign of the Loire club over French football first as a player and then as a coach from 1972, winning nine of the ten titles of champion of France and the six cups of France.
It was he who was on the bench in the final of the champions club cup lost to Bayern on May 12, 1976 (1-0).
