AS Roma Vs Lecce Results: Tammy Abraham scores, the Giallorossi to the Coppa Italia Quarter-finals

KOMPAS.comAS Roma ensured the move to the quarter-finals after beating Lecce in the round of 16 match Italian Cup.

Duel AS Roma vs Lecce which was held at the Stadio Olimpico, Friday (21/1/2022) early in the morning, ended with the victory of the Giallorossi, nicknamed AS Roma.

Jose Mourinho’s team won 3-1 over Lecce.

Lecce took the lead through Arturo Calabresi’s goal in the 14th minute.

However, AS Roma managed to make a comeback through goals scored by Marash Kumbulla (40′), Tammy Abraham (54 ‘), and Eldor Shomurodov (81’).

Lecce first opened the scoring in the 14th minute through Arturo Calabresi’s header.

Utilizing a corner kick, Arturo Calabresi managed to break into the AS Roma goal net which was guarded by Rui Patricio.

Initially, Calabresi’s goal was disallowed by referee Manuel Volpi because there was one Lecce player who was considered to be in the position offside.

However, after checking the validity of the goal using Video Assistant Referee (VAR) with enough time, the goal scored by Calabresi is legal.

The Lecce players felt calm because the goal was legal.

New Roma player, Ainsley Maitland-Niles had a chance to score in the 27th minute. However, his sontekannya can still be pushed over by Gabriel.

Jose Mourinho’s side who created more chances had to wait until the 40th minute to level the score.

Giallorossi’s crossbar, Marash Kumbulla, listed his name on the scoreboard to make it 1-1.

Tammy Abraham found Gabriel’s goal using a short pass from a new player, Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Abraham’s goal made AS Roma now lead 2-1 over Lecce.

In the 62nd minute, Lecce had to play with 10 men after Mario Gargiulo received a second yellow card after being caught committing a foul.

Two minutes earlier, the player with number 8 had been shown a yellow card by the referee.

After Lecce lost one player, Roma took advantage of it by continuing to press the opponent’s defense.

In the 81st minute, the Capital Wolves widened the gap to 3-1 through new signing Eldor Shomurudov.

Shomurodov’s goal was thanks to a good observation from Mkhitaryan. Mkhitaryan’s “beautiful” pass was successfully completed by Shomurudov.

Shomurodov’s goal was the closing in this match. The score 3-1 for AS Roma’s advantage lasted until the game ended.
