As teenagers, Lisa and Lena (18) became internet celebrities almost overnight! At the age of 13 they started on the lip-sync platform Musical.ly, today’s TikTok. Their careers immediately picked up speed and the two quickly realized that internet celebrity also had its downsides. Among other things, they were sexually molested as children.
In a recent YouTube video, the twins complain that they regularly receive “disgusting” messages. They also claim that it started very early. “When we were 14, we were also sent pictures,” explains Lena. When asked, it became more detailed and revealed that it was photos of “male genitals”. While she ignored such photos, they were moving for her sister: “Lisa had to cry a lot.”
What amazes them in particular is that these messages aren’t just from adults. “If you look at the private accounts, you can see that they are all 17 year old boys. And they are no longer anonymous, ”she emphasizes. She believes internet users are much more adventurous than they used to be.
