Artists mourn George Wassouf’s son as artist announces burial dates, receives condolences – ABC News

Arab artists mourned the death of Wadih, son of their Syrian artist colleague, George Wassouf, who passed away last night, Friday, while Wassouf announced – through his stories on communication sites – the dates of his burial and the places where he will receive people in mourning.

Wadih Wassouf died – last night, Friday – at the Mariusef hospital in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, after his health deteriorated following complications from an operation he performed a few days ago.

Wadih entered the hospital on December 27 to undergo gastric bypass surgery, and after the operation he returned home, but then he had a stomach hemorrhage, so he was transferred to the hospital, where he passed away a few days later .

Wassouf collapsed, crying heartily as he received condolences for his son Wadih, today, Saturday, at the “Marnegoula Ashrafieh” church in Lebanon, saying, “The tears of my eyes are gone, the tears of my eyes and my heart are disappear”.

In contrast to the consolation that was held today, George Wassouf announced – through communication sites – the dates of the burial of his late son, and the places where he would receive the mourners, starting from January 7 until 14 Of this month .

According to George, his son’s body will be buried tomorrow, Sunday, in the family cemetery in the city of Kafroun in Homs (central Syria), after praying for him in the Greek Orthodox church of St. Nicholas in Ashrafieh in the Lebanon capital, Beirut, the same day.

Wadih had posted his last photo with his father – via his Instagram account – about two weeks ago, commenting on it saying: “Happy birthday to my father, my brother, my best friend and my backbone, I love you “.

And it stood out Marking # Wadih_George_Wassouf – who has scaled the Lebanese platforms – while artists and Arab media figures have taken the lead in mourning Wassouf, expressing their grief over the death of the son of “Sultan Al Tarab” through their official accounts.

Syrian artist Asala offered condolences to Souf on the death of his son, praying God to inspire his father and mother’s patience.

Lebanese artist Ragheb Alama also expressed his shock at Wadih Wassouf’s tragic death, saying, “Hard news, painful news, tragic news.”

Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram, Egyptian artist Yousra and Lebanese singer Marwan Khoury have also called him.

The eldest son of the Syrian artist

It is worth noting that Wadih is the Syrian artist’s eldest son, from his first wife, Shalimar – with whom he had a civil marriage in the French capital, Paris – after his family rejected this connection, and gave the light Wadih, Hatem and George Junior.

Later, Wassouf married rally champion, Nada, who is of Palestinian descent and holds Turkish citizenship through her mother, and gave birth to their daughter, Oyoun.

George Wassouf’s last appearance was in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during the New Year celebration, where he gave a grand concert entitled “Trio Night”, together with many music stars from the Arab world, as part of the activities of the Riyadh entertainment season.
