Abu Al-Leif revealed earlier that he suffers from complete damage to one of his lungs, while the other lung is working at 15%. He confirmed that he smoked 180 cigarettes every day, and also suffers from a weak heart muscle.

Drinking 180 cigarettes a day causes lung damage

When it comes to lung damage, tar, the sticky black substance created when certain chemicals in cigarettes burn and melt together, sticks to the lung, Medline Plus reported.

Experts estimate that cigarette smoke contains between 7,000-8,000 different chemicals, about 70 of which are known carcinogens, or substances that can cause cancer.

When cigarette smoke enters the lung, it bathes the delicate lining of the lung in a toxic haze, and this can leave a thin layer of tar on its surface similar in color and texture to the type used in street paving.

Every time a person smokes, he adds more damage, and smoking causes damage to the lungs over time, which is permanent damage.

The lung contains about 500 million small air sacs called alveoli that pull oxygen from the air we breathe and release carbon dioxide when we exhale. Smoking destroys these air sacs by killing the cells that line them.

Heart muscle weakness

Myocardial dysfunction refers to a condition in which the heart muscle becomes weak and enlarged, and as a result, the heart cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body.

Weak heart muscle is usually caused by heart disease resulting from narrow or blocked coronary arteries, persistent high blood pressure, smoking, drug use, diabetes, thyroid disease, hepatitis, or autoimmune diseases.

Common symptoms of heart muscle weakness include: pain or pressure in the chest, cough or fatigue, weakness, fainting, irregular heartbeat, loss of appetite, shortness of breath with activity or after lying down for a period of time, and swelling of the feet and ankles.
