China has introduced an artificial sun that is ten times hotter than the original sun. China’s own sun, which uses nuclear fusion, is capable of emitting up to ten times more heat than the actual sun.
The first artificial sun was approved by the Chinese government in 1998. But in that project, the size of the artificial sun and the amount of heat were small. It was only able to run for 60 seconds then.
But the current artificial sun is 11 meters high. The artificial sun, which weighs 360 tons, heats up to 100 million degrees Celsius. Researchers estimate that this heat can be maintained for at least one million seconds.
