Art Stgo 2021 is committed to the democratization of art, diversity and direct contact between the artist and his audience.
“We want to captivate the public to make contemporary art more and more accessible, in the same way to encourage new collectors. Art lovers will be able to acquire works and they will be attended by their own authors, digitally, always enhancing the spirit of the fair to showcase new talents ”, he points out. Selected
There will be more than 200 artists and 2000 works in virtual exhibition. Among those invited, artists such as Lucas Estévez, Tomasa Wormull, Matthew Neary, Tan Vargas, Joshe Kaufmann, Gonzalo Pino, Chipi Vargas, Carolina Iribarren, Paco León, Caterina Di Girolamo, Erick Knorpp, Andrea Barrios, Olivia Allamand, Javiera Depassier stand out.
For Art Stgo, organized by the Kraneo production company and presented by ED, the artists were selected from applications that were open until July 23. This year there will be two dates of the fair with variations of artists and themes. The eighth edition of the fair will be held from August 5 to 8, to have another version between December 2 and 5, on the web www.artstgo.cl.
Adaptation and contingency
During the four days of the event, a digital program of talks and workshops will be exhibited, in addition to the exchange of experiences between the artists and virtual visits to their workshops.
This year, the first Art Stgo date will be associated with the theme of how the art scene has adapted to crises, both in public and private cultural institutions.
“Digital allows us to break down geographical barriers and bring and make visible new artists who have never participated in the fair in person. The hybrid format is what awaits us in the future so that we can continue to make new talents visible and help their introduction into the national art scene ”, says Nicole Andreu.
Experience
“The Art Stgo website offers an almost face-to-face experience. This is an event that has become a cultural reference in our country, with varied content, workshops and talks of the highest level and in which artists can exhibit their work; the public has the possibility of contacting them directly and also the virtual stage allows a fair to be held basically via streaming ”, explained Rodrigo Latorre, director of Art Stgo 2021 and Kraneo.
