This morning, a fire was started at Stichting De Stem, a shelter for drug addicts on Boerbuitenweg. The editors of Waterkant.Net learns that one person went to hell this morning. They tried to calm him down and put him in a room to cool off. Shortly afterwards, it turned out that smoke was coming from the room.
It is suspected that the man started a fire in the room and somehow managed to leave the room. Bystanders could arrest him and hand him over to the Surinamese police. He sustained a cut to his head and was taken by the police to Munder’s office.
The fire occurred around 7:30 am this morning. Two rooms were burned down. The building is insured against fire.
