This was stated by the Italian site CMW Arsenal and Brighton want to sign Juventus ace Manuel Locatelli before the January transfer window. The Gunners have tried to sign him in the past while working with new Brighton boss Robert De Zerbi.
Locatelli, 24, has been excellent for Juventus since the Old Lady signed him from Sassuolo last summer. After a stellar season with Italy at Euro 2020, Locatelli turned heads for the first time in his 99 appearances for Sassuolo.
Indeed, this is where Locatelli worked with new Brighton player De Zerbi. Arriving alongside De Zerbi, he has established himself as a starter in Italy, with 24 appearances to his credit. Since then he has played 49 games for Juventus.
Arsenal, meanwhile, made an offer of 34 million pounds for Locatelli last summer, only for him he joined the Old Lady for less than 31 million pounds. Despite spending only one year at Juve, Arsenal returned to the pitch for Locatelli, as did De Zerbi’s Brighton.

The Gunners need body in midfield. Fabio Vieira entered the field against Brentford and impressed, scoring a splendid goal from 24 yards. Thomas Partey is very prone to injuries, but Granit Xhaka is showing better form.
But with Arsenal in the Europa League, Arsenal need a player like Locatelli. A player who can hit both courts. Brighton would be a good move for Locatelli, but at the end of the day they are short of him. He is a European player.
The lure of working for De Zerbi and bringing Brighton to Europe could be tempting. But the Gaviota are not yet at the level necessary to sign Locatelli. Arsenal did it and they can afford it. A move could happen for Locatelli in January.
