Hamburg / Norderstedt (dpa / lno) – The police searched several buildings and executed arrest warrants during an operation against drug crime in Hamburg and in Norderstedt in Schleswig-Holstein. Seven suspects between the ages of 18 and 45 were arrested on Thursday and four other men between the ages of 24 and 32 were provisionally arrested, the Hamburg police said.
According to investigations by the drug department, several men and a woman had joined together to form a commercial “drug delivery service”. This was operated around the clock as a hierarchically structured network. There was a switchboard where customers could place orders. Other suspects were responsible for their compilation or extradition.
The officers searched 21 apartments in Hamburg and one in Norderstedt. Among other things, drug investigators, riot police, service dog handlers with drug dogs and the water police were involved in the operation. They found several kilograms of marijuana, almost one kilogram of cocaine and various ecstasy pills. Investigators also found a firearm, money from suspected drug deals and several cars.
