The Judicial Police (PJ) arrested a man on suspicion of sexually abusing his daughters, aged 13 and 21, and of assaulting and mistreating the woman in Famalicão, this police force announced today.
In a statement, the PJ said that the suspect, detained outside the act, is indicted for the crimes of sexual abuse of children, sexual abuse of dependent children, rape and domestic violence.
The victims, a 39-year-old woman and daughters, and the assailant all resided together in the room.
According to the PJ, sexual abuse with the oldest daughter, 21, started when she was 13 and has continued with “regularity” until today, occurring at home and elsewhere.
Already with the youngest daughter, 13 years old, sexual abuse began in the middle of last June, inside the house.
“For the practice of his acts, the detainee imposed a climate of constant fear and insecurity on the family, which involved inflicting physical and psychological abuse on the victims, and the permanent control of their movements and experience in society”, stressed the force policeman.
These crimes came to the PJ on Monday afternoon, who subsequently initiated the investigation, which resulted in the “gathering of numerous indications of the practice of crimes”, he stressed.
The 44-year-old detainee will now be present at a criminal investigating judge at the Vila Nova de Famalicão Court.
