Armed threats: police intervention in Beauport | Justice and various facts | News | The sun

VAround 1 p.m., Sunday afternoon, the SPVQ was questioned about an altercation between two individuals in the Beauport borough. The suspect would have threatened an individual he knew with “what appeared to be a pistol”, reports Vincent Boies, lieutenant at the SPVQ.

The police therefore quickly headed for the suspect’s home on Avenue du Bourg-Royal. After closing the perimeter to all traffic, the SPVQ proceeded to arrest the suspect, aged about fifty.

According to Lieutenant Boies, the individual left his home himself before presenting himself to the police. The man, who cooperated in his own arrest, was arrested for threats and taken to La Cité-Limoilou police station to meet with investigators.

After being questioned by SPVQ investigators, the man could be released on a promise to appear if the investigators believe that the safety of the public is not in danger.

The police intervention ended shortly before 2 p.m. Avenue du Bourg-Royal has been reopened to traffic and everything is back to normal in the area.
