Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said: Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) cannot be used for non-sports activities, including the 212 Reunion. Riza said that JIS is currently focused on sports agendas.
The issue of the allocation of JIS outside of sporting activities began when the Labor Union was about to hold a Mayday Fiesta. At that time the Labor Union asked for the May Day Fiesta to be allowed to be held at JIS.
Riza once stressed that the DKI Provincial Government refused to use JIS for political purposes. “JIS is used together for sports, arts and culture interests and even religious interests. JIS should not be used for political purposes,” Riza told reporters, Thursday (13/5/2022) night.
A day later Riza was again asked the same thing regarding the allocation of JIS in political activities. Riza at that moment straightened. Riza said JIS could be used for the benefit of the people of Jakarta, including labor activities, provided that the activities were positive and in accordance with the law.
“JIS was built for the benefit of the people of Jakarta and the pride of Indonesia for the benefit of sports and arts and culture, socio-religious, and includes other useful activities. Including labor activities, please if the time is possible, please, we do not prohibit all positive activities that are good and right according to regulations legislation,” said Riza Patria at the DKI Jakarta City Hall office, Friday (13/5/2022).
Riza then talked about the possibility of using JIS during the 2024 election campaign. However, Riza said that his party was still waiting for the regulations that JakPro would issue.
“Including later, the 2024 campaign period has been in the stadium. If it is possible at JIS, I think it will be later, but later I will wait for the arrangements from JakPro,” said Riza.
“The important thing is that our shared assets keep them clean, tidy and so on,” he continued.
Riza was then asked again about what if the 212 Reunion was held at JIS. At that time Riza gave the green light.
“Yes, all activities that are considered good, do not violate the laws and regulations, are allowed, anything that does not violate them,” said Riza at the DKI Jakarta City Hall office, Friday (13/5/2022).
Deputy Governor Clarification JIS Cannot Be Used for 212 Reunion
A day later Riza Patria straightened out her statement about whether or not the 212 Reunion would be held at JIS. Riza said that for the time being, non-sports activities such as the 212 Reunion could not be carried out at JIS.
“I need to emphasize that JIS was primarily built for sports activities, encouraging the birth of Indonesian proud athletes in the future. This is to correct the recent news in the mass media regarding the 212 reunion plan that uses JIS,” said Riza in a written statement, Saturday (15/15). /5/2022).
Riza said that in the future JIS will become a place for various activities ranging from sports to religion. Riza said regulations for non-sporting activities are being prepared by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).
“It is true, in the future JIS will become a public space, where residents meet and interact in religious, social and cultural matters. However, for these non-sporting activities, the regulations and provisions are still being drawn up by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro). For now, it cannot be used as a location for the 212 reunion,” he said.
