Ariza Says I Will Be Removed as Deputy Chairperson of the DPRD

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – M Taufik confirmed the news that he would be removed by DPP Gerindra as Deputy Chairman of the DKI DPRD.

However, Taufik has not received an official letter regarding his removal.

Taufik just received the news from the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party who is also the Deputy Governor of DKI, Ahmad Riza Patria.

“Not yet from the DPP, yes. But what is clear is that Pak Ariza has told me that,” said Taufik to Kompas.com, Friday (1/4/2022).

Taufik also admitted that he did not know the reason why the Gerindra DPP removed him. However, he admitted that he accepted the removal.

“Ariza said I wanted to be replaced, I said it was the party’s right to replace it,” continued Taufik.

Although he was removed as deputy chairman of the DKI DPRD, Taufik emphasized that he is still a cadre and also an administrator of Gerindra. At the current DPD Gerindra DKI, Taufik serves as Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board.

“I’m still at Gerindra. I’m still the deputy chairman. I don’t think there’s a problem,” he said.

Meanwhile, Taufik is a member of the DPD Gerindra DKI. He served as Chair of the DPD Gerindra DKI for 12 years, from 2008 to 2020.

Taufik’s leadership at Gerindra was only replaced in 2020 and shifted to Ahmad Riza Patria who is now also the Deputy Governor of DKI.

During his 12 years of leadership in the DPD Gerindra Jakarta, Taufik has brought the party created by Prabowo Subianto to become a party that is quite respected in Jakarta.

Gerindra has always been in second place in the vote for the DKI Jakarta DPRD in the 2014 and 2019 legislative elections.

Under Taufik’s leadership, Gerindra has also successfully led the pair Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) in 2012 and Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno in 2017 to become the pair of Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta.
