The arrival of such a large number of vaccines made it possible to advance in the last hours in two significant announcements:

• Buenos Aires Minister of Health Daniel Gollán anticipated that next week they will begin to meet to vaccinate citizens between 18 and 40 years old with previous diseases. This allows us to assume that people 50 years of age and younger, without diseases, will be vaccinated in June.
• The Buenos Aires minister, Fernán Quirós, announced that this Friday the registration of CABA residents between 45 and 49 years old, with previous illnesses, was opened. The Buenos Aires district is more backward than the Buenos Aires district, but there is also the prospect of being able to vaccinate 50-year-olds, without comorbidities, before the end of next month.

Vizzotti’s announcement then confirmed the flow from Albuquerque, New Mexico City, where an AstraZeneca plant is located that finished the doses whose substance was produced in Argentina, in the mAbxience laboratory. Given the difficulties that existed in the early days at the Liomont laboratory in Mexico, the completion was moved to Albuquerque. There are still more than 20 million doses to be finished, but this Monday, on a cargo plane, at 7 in the morning, a huge number arrives: 2,148,000 doses.

National government sources also told this newspaper that a new flight to Moscow is prepared to search for Sputnik V. As always, the amount will be slightly more or slightly less than 500,000 doses. As is known, Vladimir Putin announced last week that shipments from Russia will be regularized.

The presidents of Mexico and Argentina announced last week that the first 800,000 vaccines would arrive from Mexico this weekend, with an active ingredient manufactured at mAbxience, in Garín, and the completion of the Liomont laboratory, in the state of Mexico. These vaccines take a few days: every time a consignment arrives from a new production plant, the authorization of the Anmat is required. This process depends on the arrival of documentation and has a slight delay. The 800,000 will be in Ezeiza next week.

The flow of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines, product of the Argentina-Mexico agreement, will be constant during the month of June. It is calculated that no less than three and a half million doses will reach Argentina, taking into account that the project contemplates the distribution of vaccines throughout Latin America. Hugo Sigman’s mAbxience laboratory will produce 30 million doses in June, which will be finished in Mexico and distributed in all the countries of the continent.

As anticipated Page 12 two million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine will come in the middle of the month, another major reinforcement to the vaccination campaign. The main Chinese pharmaceutical company signed an agreement with Argentina for a total of six million doses, of which four million will come in July.

To these amounts could be added several projects and agreements that are underway. With Cuba -where Minister Vizzotti and advisor Cecilia Nicolini traveled-, with the Gamaleya Institute, with Cansino Bio from China, the production in Argentina of Sinopharm and the endless negotiations with Pfizer.

When the first dose is applied, at approximately three weeks, citizens are protected by more than 90 percent from a serious development of the coronavirus or hospitalization.
