The bodies of Vicente Candia G. (80) and Juana Vidal P. (74) were found by their daughter at 06:30 am today inside the bathroom that is under the steps that lead to the second floor of their home located in block “D”, lot 14, Union Street, in Mariano Bustamante urbanization in the Mariano Melgar district.
Intoxicated
The daughter reported the death of her parents to the police, who mobilized the personnel of the police station in the sector, homicide detectives from Divincri, criminalistics experts and the prosecutor on duty to carry out the removal of the bodies.

The police had to break open the bathroom door to remove the bodies from the bathroom where, in addition, there were towels, a gas canister, a single-burner stove and a burned pot with remains of the medicinal plants they had used for the makeshift sauna.
The carbon monoxide that is released from the combustion of the gas in the closed environment, caused the death of the elderly and none of their relatives realized what had happened, despite the fact that the accident, according to the estimates of the experts, occurred between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
According to the police, the relatives indicated that it was the first time that the spouses took a bath in this way.
