Are Southern European companies ready for the European Green Deal?

The European Union has launched an ambitious sustainable finance program that aims to redirect capital flows towards climate transition and sustainability. This program is an essential piece of the Eurpean Green Deal and the Covid-19 Recovery Plan. In this context, both companies and investors need reliable and meaningful information on the risks and impacts of companies in aspects of sustainability management, in order to take advantage of investment opportunities and manage the challenges and opportunities in a world in rapid evolution.

Next December 1 (2pm – 3.30pm) will be the launch of the investigation on the information published by 303 companies on climate and environment in 2020, in a seminar web in which Sustentia will participate: «Are Southern European companies ready for the European Green Deal?«

The seminar will include a review of the results of the southern European companies included in the sample, 56 of them Spanish. The role of the publication of information by companies in the Sustainable Finance, Climate Transition and Reconstruction COVID-19 programs underway in Europe will be discussed.

Registration is open here.

The study is published at the time when the European Commission is finalizing its proposal to reform the EU Directive on Non-Financial Information, and plans to create a body dedicated to the standardization of information on sustainability. What changes will this reform bring? The event will address the opportunities and the biggest challenges for companies in Spain, Italy and Greece.
