Apple released Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra at the ‘Wonderlust’ event, Wednesday (13/9) midnight, including feature just a tap of a finger.
The launch of this smartwatch opens the release of Apple’s newest line of gadgets.
The Apple Watch 9 retains the features of the Apple Watch Series 8 released last year, namely the temperature sensor and Crash Detection.
There is also the Apple Watch Ultra 2, a ‘more robust’ variant for outdoor activities such as deep diving, released with a larger screen.
In its presentation, Apple revealed that this watch also has a second generation ultra wideband chip to help with precision searches with your iPhone.
Another upgrade is a brighter display: Apple says the brightness can reach 2000 nits, double that of the Series 8.
Regarding the newest features, Apple says the Series 9 offers a double-tap feature which allows you to tap your index finger and thumb simultaneously to do things like answer a phone call.
Double-tap on this smartwatch allows users to answer phone calls or turn off alarms without touching the screen with their fingers.
Simply put your index finger and thumb together on the arm wearing the watch twice. Incoming calls can be answered, alarms can be snoozed.
This feature is similar to the tap feature demonstrated at the launch of the Apple Vision Pro. Apple also offers something like that through Assistive Touch.
However, this double-tap feature will only arrive as part of a software update in October. The Watch 9 itself uses the watchOS 10 operating system, which will be released on September 18.
The Apple Watch Series 9 is available in various colors, namely aluminum in pink, starlight, silver, midnight and red products.
Meanwhile, the stainless steel version of the Watch 9 will be available in gold, silver and graphite.
For the US market, orders for the Apple Watch Series 9 can begin to be ordered today and will be available on September 22.
How much does it cost? Apple sells it starting at US$399 (Rp. 6.13 million).
