The outbreak of the corona virus forces Apple to take extraordinary measures. After the group closed all stores outside of China this week, there are now restrictions on online shopping. Like the news agency “Reuters” reported, it is currently not possible in most countries to purchase more than two iPhones in Apple’s online shops. Even when trying to buy three copies of the iPhone 11 Pro in the Swiss shop, this is impossible and the following message is displayed: “A maximum of 2 iPhone 11 Pro can be purchased per customer. Please correct the total number of iPhone 11 Pro in your order, before you checkout. ”
For the last time, Apple limited the amount of iPhones it bought when it launched in 2007 to prevent the devices from being resold at inflated prices. One can only speculate about the current motives. While some see the cause of bridging supply bottlenecks, others argue that supply chains have now returned to normal.
