‘Apple also provides MacBook with Intel processor with a new design’
The generally reliable and tasty ‘L0vetodream’ suggests in a short tweet that Apple will release MacBook models with Apple Silicon and Intel processors in the second half of 2021. De Lekker responds with this tweet to Ming-Chi Kuo’s report.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims in a report that Apple will launch newly designed MacBook models with Apple Silicon in the second half of next year. However, ‘L0vetodream’ questions this. The anonymous yummy with pseudonym says that not all redesigned MacBooks in 2021 will have an Apple Silicon chip. This implies that we can also expect MacBooks with Intel chips in the coming year.
The prediction is curious given that last summer Apple promised to move all of its computers from Intel to Silicon in the next two years. A newly designed MacBook with an Intel processor does not really seem to fit in here.
Recently Apple launched the first devices with their own M1 chip. The first was for the Mac mini, 13 inch-MacBook Pro in MacBook Air. While the new computers still have a few shortcomings over their more expensive Intel counterparts, they also perform better at a number of core tasks.
