APPEL is indignant and demands justice

In a statement made public, the Association of Editors and Professionals of the Online Press (APPEL) is indignant at the attack on the premises of the online newspaper Jotaay and the daily “Les Echos” which took place on Monday, August 3. She thus called on the member organizations of the Coordination of Press Associations (CAP) and all freedom of expression activists to stand up to denounce this barbarism, but above all so that the perpetrators are tracked down and severely punished.

This attack on the premises of the newspaper “Les Echos”, regrets APPEL, awakens the monster and could inspire other renegades and gravediggers of press freedom, especially in these times of crisis and overheating of the social climate. The association of online press editors believes that this kind of act was definitely over in Senegal since the sacking of the premises of the newspapers L’As and 24 Chrono, more than 10 years ago and finds it unacceptable that in rule of law, journalists are attacked for their writings or press companies are ransacked for publishing information.
