Police have warned farmers to be extra vigilant as farm-related thefts often increase in the spring and autumn. They suggest that farmers take steps to secure their yards, including installing gates and attaching machinery to concrete or metal posts. Good lighting, an alarm system, and CCTV can also help deter thieves. Farmers should also photograph their equipment and keep a detailed record of the brand, color, and serial number.

Other recent thefts of farm equipment include GPS technology stolen from tractors across the country. Farmers are advised to be on the lookout for suspicious activity and to report any incidents to the authorities.
