Apartment and house owners are threatened with a PLN 500 fine for rubbish

“Rzeczpospolita” in the material on the work on the draft amendment to the regulations informs that the city guard will be able to punish a person evading the settlement of waste bills – the owners of houses and flats are threatened with a fine of PLN 500.

The newspaper said that at least 5 million Poles will evade the obligation to pay fees for garbage collection and it is currently difficult to punish them, and the Ministry of the Interior and Administration is working on changing the regulations to make this possible.

The draft amendment to the regulation on offenses, which entitles municipal guards to impose fines by way of a criminal mandate, provides that the municipal or municipal guard will be able to impose a fine of up to PLN 500 on a person who has not submitted a declaration on the basis of which the amount of the fee is determined for garbage collection – Rzeczpospolita reported.

According to the draft, the same punishment is to await those who gave untruth in this declaration – e.g. undercut the number of members of the household, which pays less for garbage, or does not segregate waste – according to the article.

The newspaper also said that the guard would have the right to penalize a person who declared that he would set up a composter, wanting to pay less for garbage collection, and in fact it was an empty promise or although he has a composter, in practice he does not use it.
