JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The Densus 88 anti-terror team at the National Police Headquarters and the North Sumatra Regional Police have secured more than 500 charity boxes suspected of funding terrorists.
Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Pol Hadi Wahyudi, explained that the more than 500 charity boxes were secured in a warehouse in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.
This search was the result of the Densus 88 team’s deepening of the arrest of suspected terrorists in a number of places in North Sumatra, Friday (26/3/2021).

According to Hadi, the charity boxes were distributed in minimarket, restaurants and markets. Apart from securing the charity boxes in the warehouse, the team also confiscated dozens of charity boxes at minimarket which is already filled.
“There are dozens that were secured in minimarket. From minimarket, restaurants and markets are already filled. Finally, in the warehouse, the condition is empty. Overall, more than 500 charity boxes were secured and circulated in North Sumatra, “said Hadi in an interview with the Kompas Petang program, Saturday (27/3/2021).
Apart from the charity box, the Densus 88 team also secured clothes with the foundation’s name on it, hundreds of foundation brochures and stickers affixed to the charity box and sharp weapons.
