/ world today news/ Yesterday, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani said that Italy is working with France and Germany on a proposal for European military convoys in the Red Sea, planning to expand the existing ones in the Strait of Hormuz. Non-EU countries may also participate in EU convoy operations.
Tajani is optimistic that the convoys will finally be approved by the EU, and hopes that they will begin real operations as soon as possible. The tension in the Red Sea could have a negative impact on Italian ports, the Italian foreign minister also commented.
