For the third evening in a row, Kurds and left-wing activists are taking to the streets in Vienna. The situation is coming to a head again.
State of emergency in favorites: Demonstrations have been taking place in Vienna’s 10th district since Wednesday. On two days there were riots in the late evening hours. The police are therefore on site with a large contingent on Friday so that the situation does not get out of control.
In the early evening, a restricted area in front of the EKH was set up in Wielandstrasse. The scene of the riots in the past few days. The police did not want to leave anything to chance and were at the demo with several hundred officers from the start. Helicopters also circled over favorites.

Dogs are used
The situation is said to have been quiet at first, but the activists say that attempts were made to disrupt the demonstration. On Friday, the attacks of the last evenings were used as an occasion for the rally. They want to protest against the “aggression and attacks by Turkish nationalist and Islamist groups”.
Towards the evening hours the mood seemed to change again. The police special unit went out with dogs to keep the situation under control.
