Another five arrests for knife attack Paris, minister calls Islamic terrorism

Today’s attack was near the old office of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo. In 2015, al-Qaeda terrorists committed one there attack, killing 12 people and injuring 11 others.

Main suspect

Two men have been arrested, including the main suspect, an 18-year-old man of Pakistani descent. He had already been arrested for illegal possession of weapons, but the security services did not target him for radicalism. He is said to have come to France three years ago.

The other man is Algerian. Who the other five suspects are has not yet been disclosed, only that they were born between 1983 and 1996. They were arrested during a search of an apartment in a suburb of Paris where the main suspect was supposed to live. All seven are stuck.

Not in danger to life

Two journalists from the Premières Lignes news agency, which makes documentaries, among other things, were injured but are not in danger of death. They were attacked with a cleaver while they were smoking outside.
