Garbage cans are burning again in Sulzbach. Presumably a fire was set next to a primary school.
Update from Friday, February 12th, 2021, 9:57 a.m .: In Sulzbach were probably fire devils on the way again. According to the police, unidentified persons in the night from Thursday to Friday (02/12/2021) Garbage cans and containers next to the Cretzschmar primary school allegedly set on fire. Fortunately, the fire brigade was on site quickly – only windows of the school building were damaged, but the fire did not spread to the school. The fire occurred around midnight, but thanks to a resident who had reported the fire, the police and fire brigade were quickly on site and the fire was extinguished around 20 minutes after it broke out.
The Sulzbacherin, who had alerted the emergency services, had also observed the alleged perpetrators: According to the police, these are two people dressed in dark. The police estimate the age of the alleged arsonists to be less than 60 due to the speed of the perpetrators. The perpetrators have not yet been captured, but the officers have checked several people near the crime scene.

Also in November 2019 there were several cases of attempted arson – a whole series of fires. At that time, strangers had also set fire to rubbish bins and cans. According to the police, it is currently unclear whether there is a connection. So far, there is no evidence that the arson could be linked to. But: the investigators do not want to rule out a connection.

Sulzbach – On the night of Saturday (November 9th, 2019) a suspected arsonist started several fires in Sulzbach (Main-Taunus-Kreis). As a police spokesman for the German Press Agency (dpa) said, several objects burned during the night.
The police have arrested an alleged suspect. According to the police, there were no injuries. The “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” first reported on the incidents. The Sulzbach fire department announced on Facebook that the items included three cars, three garbage containers and eight garbage cans.
A residential building was also damaged in the fire in a garden shed. In addition, the canopy of a garage burned. The volunteers speak of a “busy night”.

The people in charge of the Sulzbach fire brigade write on Facebook of an “almost fictional-sounding scenario – in which many Sulzbachers were certainly startled by the siren alarm”. But no trace of fiction: it was “exclusively real fires”, writes the fire department.
According to its own information, the fire brigade has deployed a total of nine locations. The Schwalbach fire brigade, the Bad Soden volunteer fire brigade as well as the German Red Cross and the police were also involved in the operations.

As the police spokesman said, the Hofheim criminal investigation department has now taken over the investigation. The police initially did not provide any further information about the suspect or the fires. The amount of damage is not yet known.
Almost 9,000 people live in the community of Sulzbach. The Main-Taunus-Zentrum, Germany’s first shopping center, opened there in 1964.
Many fire brigades in the Rhine-Main area have the same problem: They have too few members. One solution could be compulsory service for the citizens.
