On Saturday, a rally of around 200 people, according to Republican East, was held in the city center of Nancy, on the initiative of several organizations, including “Réinfo Covid”, which promotes a “different lighting” on the health crisis. MP Martine Wonner, ex-LREM, who regularly relays false allegations around Covid-19 and is the subject of a complaint before the Order of Physicians, participated in the rally, as did Professor Christian Perronne, former head of service at the Assistance publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (APHP), dismissed from his post in December after various comments about the pandemic.
The mayor of Nancy, the socialist Mathieu Klein, denounced in a press release on Monday a “macabre, psychologically violent and slanderous staging towards the firefighters”. He announced the filing of a report with the public prosecutor.
On Twitter, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin brought his “support” to the mayor of Nancy “in his legal action against this morbid staging”. “Our firefighters are on all fronts to protect our fellow citizens: covid, forest fires, everyday accidents …” he also stressed.
