As our colleagues from Siliconera, Nintendo’s official site reveals an annoying mention below the rating produced by the ESRB: In-Game Purchases. This label launched in 2018 by the American classification system aims to warn consumers of the presence of in-game purchases in games, like DLC, lootboxes and everything related to microtransactions in general. A rather disturbing news and even if we imagine Nintendo to opt for lootboxes, it must be recognized that the principle of Animal Crossing would lend itself well to small purchases of cosmetic elements.
