“How could such a thing have happened here?” How come there is no oxygen in this hospital? It is unacceptable! ”, Launched the sovereign, visibly furious, to the director Abdel Razak al-Khachman.
“An oxygen supply failure occurred for nearly an hour at the government hospital in Salt and this probably resulted in the death” of the patients, said on the spot the Minister of Health Nazir Obeidat, in front of the journalists.
The minister submitted his resignation, which was accepted by Prime Minister Bicher al-Khasawneh. The latter then told reporters that the hospital director had been dismissed from his post.
The director of provincial health services has been suspended pending the results of the open inquiry, the prime minister added, adding that the government was “taking full responsibility” for the incident.
“According to a new report, four men and three women over the age of 40 have died,” said Adnane Abbas, national director of forensic medicine.

“We hope that God will have mercy on the victims and we want those responsible for what happened to be judged severely,” Abu Abdallah, who lost one of his relatives, told AFP.
