– Not easy to fit

As mentioned, TIX, or Andreas Haukeland as he is actually called, was a self-written guest during this year’s award ceremony, where he performed a performance of the recent song “Tusen tårer”.

Only on Sunday, however, did he tell his followers on Instagram that he had dreaded it for several weeks before he was to perform the song.

“It is one of the greatest moments I have experienced as an artist. I cried behind my glasses. For at this moment I am on TV in front of my whole country and will perform a song that so far no one but me has anything to do with “, he wrote on Sunday about performing” A Thousand Tears “.

In recent years, TIX has taken Norway by storm with both popular russel songs and radio hits. However, it is not too often you get behind the facade of the popular artist, but this weekend he put several cards on the table about his own life.

During “P3Gull”, the 27-year-old spoke openly about the diagnosis Tourettes, where both Stian “Staysman” Thorbjørnsen (38), mother and little brother Mathias, known from “Paradise Hotel”, lined up to talk about the talented songwriter.

In the program, the artist had a serious face when he lifted his heart, and explained that it feels strange when everyone thinks they know who he is, but does not really do it.

– When I went to school, it was very difficult to have both OCD and Tourettes with tics. Then it is not so easy to fit in, he said frankly.

Took ownership of the bully name

Mathias, who is the brother of the famous musician, explained in the interview that his brother had been called tics when he was bullied as a young man, and that Haukland wanted to take ownership of the name.

The mother of the two boys, for her part, said that the son had a lot of tics with his eyes, and that this is why he often wears sunglasses – so that no one can see if he closes his eyes.

The large fur coat, which has become iconic, so to speak, was described as an armor.

According to Lommelegen are tics involuntary or semi-involuntary movements (motor tics), or involuntary sounds (vocal tics). Tics in Tourette’s syndrome may decrease or increase over periods.

Became calmer by the music

On Saturday night, the artist was also seen in “Dagsrevyen”, where he talked about the bullying and the diagnosis.

In the NRK program, Haukeland explained that when he first started playing music, his parents noticed that the diagnosis calmed down. TIX thinks it is good to contribute to others getting better by being open about their diagnosis.

– Bullying will never go away, but as long as I get a message from a parent saying that “my child is better off because of you”, I know I am doing something right, he said.

On Instagram, he also wrote on Sunday that everyone struggles with theirs, and that there is often more behind than you usually get the impression of.

“I think everyone is having a hard time at times, but I want to make it clear that we are all struggling with our things. EVERYONE! And that is precisely why one should preferably not judge the book by its cover. Read the book first “, he wrote, and added that he greatly appreciates the support he has received after the P3 appearance.
