Scientists from University of California and Smithsonian National Museum established similarities between humans and ancient creatures that existed on Earth over 500 million years ago.

So, American experts have discovered fossil traces that were left by ancient creatures.
We are talking about the Ediacaran biota – a complex of fossil organisms that inhabited the ocean floor about 550 million years ago.
“These animals are so strange and different that it is difficult to attribute them to modern categories of living organisms if you look at them,” – said the scientist Mary Drozer.
During the study, experts found out that these organisms had vestigial nervous system organs regulated by the same types of genetic elements that are still used today by animals and humans.
Research has shown that the biota may have had a genetic predisposition to the development of multicellularity, musculature, and the nervous system.
