Marcel Brands is about to renew his expiring contract with Everton. According to the Liverpool Echo, the Director of Football is about to sign a new three-year deal with The Toffees.
Brands’ contract with Everton will expire after this season and talks have been ongoing for some time. There has now been a breakthrough, reports the Liverpool Echo. Trainer Carlo Ancelotti previously indicated that he would like to continue with Brands, who was linked to Manchester United in the past.
“As far as I know it is ‘work in progress’. There is no doubt that he (Brands, ed.) Is going to sign a new contract,” the Everton coach is quoted as saying by the Liverpool newspaper. “We work well together and have a good relationship. I would be very happy if he renewed his contract.”
Brands is reportedly going to sign a contract that will keep him at Everton until mid-2024.
