Unique approach of our Prime Minister, this Friday, at 16 rue de la Loi. Sophie Wilmès has agreed to take a photo shoot highlighting her eyes. By joining this operation called “The Elegant Mask”, it encourages all Belgians to look at themselves not in the whites of their eyes, but face to face. With kindness and attention. While wearing a mask will undoubtedly settle for a very long time in our habits, the eyes will have to take a big step in our mode of communication.

It is an original idea with a humanist vocation, carried by a duo from Binchois. For months, Patrick Haumont and Amandine Lison have been photographing the masked faces of anonymous people by the hundreds, focusing very closely on the eyes. The result is stunning. A project that will lead to several exhibitions and a book.
The Prime Minister was sensitive to this project. At the request of the duo, she in turn agreed to have her eyes photographed very, very closely.
Despite an overbooked schedule, she agreed to take part in this exercise. “Because it seems to me that this process is a positive way to tame these profound changes that we must face. When you wear a mask, you look each other more in the eyes, ”notes the Prime Minister. “And we gradually realize that through our gaze, a lot of things can be expressed. To put this forward, I find it constructive. Because we will have to reinvent our connections between human beings ”.
Want to go behind the scenes of this exceptional shoot in the white and gold meeting room at 16 rue de la Loi in Brussels? We look forward to seeing you in our Sudpresse editions this Saturday.
