In the 2024 cockfighting competition, the Farmers’ Association of 8 provinces and cities in Ninh Binh province is an activity to create a joyful and interesting atmosphere to serve the people and tourists who come to the Festival.

The cockfighting competition is known to take place in 3 days from April 17, 2024 (ie the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month) to April 19, 2024 (ie the 11th day of the 3rd lunar month) in Truong Yen commune, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh province.
According to the rules of the Fighting Cock Competition, each unit of the Farmers’ Association of regions and cities chooses 2 pairs of fighting cocks (4 chickens); The standards for fighting cocks chosen to participate in the competition must be healthy, well trained in striking and breathing, have participated in fighting competitions and weigh 2.9 – to have 3.03kg.
So, there are 7 pools in each game, each pool lasts 15 minutes. At the end of the 5th round of competition, if both chicken owners agree to a draw, the referee ends the game and awards the tied chicken to both chicken owners.

In addition, in the event that one of the two chicken owners does not agree to a draw, the match will continue until the end of the 7th tank, any chicken owner who does not allow the chicken to continue to compete will be declared as a loser
During the competition, if the chicken runs away before 6 minutes, it will be considered a loss and will not receive the prize. If both chicken owners agree and do not allow the chickens to compete before the end of the 5th century, those two chickens will not receive the prize and their points will not be counted to consider the total prize.
Prizes for pairs of competing chickens are given in cash by the Organizing Committee, winning chickens are 600,000 VND/chicken, tied chickens are 500,000 VND/chicken (chicken fighting 5 tanks enough), and e chickens that lose 400,000 VND / chicken. The prize for the whole group includes cash donations along with flags to the Farmer’s Associations of areas and cities.
The 2024 cockfighting competition creates a joyful and exciting atmosphere for people who attend the festival to enjoy folk games that are full of the country’s cultural identity. Through the competition, we aim to contribute to preserving, owning and promoting the country’s traditional culture.
