An additional 25,000 euros will be allocated for the construction of a water supply and sewerage system for the future multifunctional area in Ķekava

Ķekava municipality has allocated additional funding of 25,000 euros for the future multifunctional sports field in Ķekava, according to information on the municipality’s website.

The funding will be used to build a water supply and sewerage connection, which is necessary for the future multifunctional sports field, near Ķekava Secondary School.

According to the Sports Agency of Ķekava Municipality, currently a construction project of the sports field has been submitted to the Ķekava Municipality Construction Board, and after its approval, construction works will be started.

The necessary water supply and sewerage connections to the sports field cross the existing construction territory of Ķekava Secondary School extension, therefore the construction of the connection will be carried out by the builder of the school extension, who is currently in charge of the said extension during the construction of the extension.

The project on the creation of a multifunctional sports ground surface is being implemented by the Sports Agency of Ķekava Municipality. LEADER co-financing in the amount of 25,000 euros has also been received for the implementation of the 1st round of this project.

According to the project in Ķekava, a multifunctional sports field will be created at Gaismas Street 7a (next to Ķekava Secondary School), where an ice rink is planned during the winter, using a refrigeration carpet system.

The creation of such a square will promote opportunities for residents to spend their free time in both winter and summer seasons. Thus, in winter there will be unlimited access to various winter sports, using appropriate, high-quality infrastructure, the municipality emphasizes.

In spring, summer and autumn, it can be used for training and healthy leisure activities, such as roller skating, basketball, football, floorball, skateboarding. The square would be available to every resident of Ķekava region free of charge.
