TF1 communicated on December 30 on the broadcast of the first episode of its famous TV hook. The Voice begins with the first blind auditions Saturday January 18, 2020 from 9.05 p.m. on the first channel. However, we do not yet know the date of the final. Still, the front page song contest is a very long soap opera that can easily last more than three months. In 2019, the tele-hook took place from February 9 to June 6. It’s a safe bet that for season 9, the final will be scheduled for next spring.
Before even disclosing the broadcast date, TF1 had announced the names of the four coaches who will have to decide between the talents of The Voice 2020. This year, a completely new coach quartet is sitting in the red armchairs of the show : Amel Bent, Lara Fabian, Pascal Obispo and Marc Lavoine will be the coaches for this ninth season. Nikos Aliagas, still on the helm of the singing competition alongside Karine Ferri, also testified to her enthusiasm. “These new coaches are great artists who have marked French song. They are in line with the positive and unifying values of a program such as The Voice. And I am happy to welcome them,” he commented.
The winner of the latest edition of The Voice was elected last June on TF1. Whitney won. Just 20 years old, Whitney caused a sensation in The Voice. His personal journey had a great impact on viewers. Affected by fibromyalgia, this student from Montpellier only feels good when she sings, because it allows her to forget the pain. The young woman appeared for the first time in episode 5 of The Voice season 8. During the blind auditions, she interpreted the title “Friends” by Marshmello and Anne-Marie which earned him the favors of Mika and Soprano. It was ultimately Mika that she chose to join and with whom she shared the whole adventure. She will hit the bull’s eye several times during the competition, notably for her cover of “I’ll always love you” by Whitney Houston, her idol to whom she owes her stage name, but also that of “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper . At the end of the final, Whitney established herself as the big winner with 37.9% of the public vote.
This is the big meeting at the start of the year for TF1: the tele-hook The Voice punctuates the start of the new school year in January for the first channel in France. Traditionally, TF1 launched its new season of “The Voice, the most beautiful voice” in mid-January with blind auditions. The show is broadcast every Saturday at 9 p.m. on TF1. It is followed by a program called “The Voice, the suite” which reveals some of the behind the scenes of the flagship program of TF1.
Like all TF1 programs, The Voice is available for replay for seven days after the episode is broadcast. So don’t be too late to catch up. Pending the return of The Voice, TF1 had proposed in September 2019 The Voice Kids, the 6th edition of the “children” version of the competition.
