From fastest to roughest Bond car ever: these cars shine on the silver screen together with 007 | drive

HLN DriveAfter a long wait, the latest James Bond movie came out yesterday. It not only equates to spectacular action scenes and witty humor, but also to glitzy sports cars. HLN Drive guides you through the 9 cars that make their appearance together with the master spy in No Time to Die.

Naturally, Bond takes a seat behind the wheel of a number of Aston Martins. The British car brand has been around since the third Bond film Goldfinger (1964) associated with 007. The car from that film, the iconic Aston Martin DB5, also played in many films afterwards, and now also in No Time to Die. It is not surprising that this car is the Bond car par excellence for many.

The DB5 isn’t the only Aston Martin in the film, by the way. The classic V8 also plays along. We saw this car model for the first time in The Living Daylights (1987) with Timothy Dalton in the skin of 007. As you can deduce from its name, this car has a V8 engine. That is good for 320 hp and a top speed of 261 kilometers per hour.

Finally, Aston Martin also puts two modern cars in the hands of Bond. First we see the DBS Superleggera. This English monument has a V12 engine with 5.2 liters on board, good for 725 hp and 900 Nm. All that power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. This Superleggera has a top speed of 340 kilometers per hour. A fast car, but not the fastest Bond ever drove. Because that’s the Aston Martin Valhalla. That car has a V8 engine of 4 liters and has a system power of 950 hp. It sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.5 seconds. In addition, this car is full of Formula 1 technology.

Jaguar – Land Rover

Jaguar – Land Rover, that other British manufacturer, was also happy to lend a few cars to the most famous spy. This is how the Land Rover Defender appearing in a countryside chase scene. The video below shows how indestructible the off-roader is. Other SUVs from the brand that we will see in the film are the Range Rover Sport and the original Range Rover. Just like Aston Martin, this British brand also wants to share its rich history with film buffs. And let’s be honest, classic cars in a movie always bring good vibes.

The other part of the automotive group, Jaguar, supplied the XF Sportbrake. If James opts for the fastest version here, he will get a 5-litre V8 engine, good for 550 hp. The Sportbrake sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.6 seconds.

The odd one out

In addition to all that British violence, actor Daniel Craig finally gets behind the wheel of a Japanese car, more specifically a Toyota Land Cruiser of the J100 generation. His heaviest version? A 4.7 liter V8 engine, good for 245 hp. With a 0-100 time of 11.7 seconds, it is certainly not the fastest Bond car ever, but it is one of the roughest.
