All circles fall below the 35 mark – SWR Aktuell

The number of new corona infections in Baden-Württemberg continues to decline. On Saturday, for the first time in a long time, all urban and rural districts had an incidence of less than 35.

On Friday, the number of new corona infections per 100,000 residents within a week was only above the 35 mark in the Heilbronn district. On Saturday, all 44 urban and rural districts in Baden-Württemberg fell below this value for the first time. This emerges from the current situation report by the State Health Office on everything to do with the coronavirus.

Accordingly, the seven-day incidence is still the highest in the Heilbronn district, with a value of 28.4. The value is lowest in the Hohenlohe district at 2.7.

Nationwide incidence continues to decline

The nationwide seven-day incidence has meanwhile fallen to 12.7 (as of June 19, 4 p.m.). The value was 14.0 on Friday and 25.5 last Saturday. A total of 153 new corona infections were recently recorded (previous week: 331). In addition, two new deaths in connection with Covid-19 (total: 10,159) were reported to the Baden-Württemberg State Health Office.

More infections with the corona variant

At the same time, according to the authority, the proportion of infections with the particularly contagious Delta variant is increasing: In the past two weeks, their proportion of the worrying variants has already been 6.51 percent. Immunologists have already warned of a new corona wave in autumn. In view of the increasing spread of the delta variant in Germany too, they called on politicians to prepare intensively for a new wave.

Corona measures in circles under 35 incidence

Earlier this month, the state government introduced a new level for urban or rural districts where the incidence is below 35 for five consecutive days. Accordingly, there is no obligation to test in outdoor areas such as outdoor catering or when visiting an outdoor pool. Celebrations in hospitality facilities (outside and inside) are allowed with up to 50 people who provide evidence of a test, vaccination or recovery.

In addition, cultural events – especially theater, opera and outdoor concerts – can be held with up to 750 visitors. Starting next Monday (June 21), Baden-Württemberg’s state government will also loosen the mask requirement for pupils in districts with a lower incidence: If the incidence falls below the seven-day incidence of 35 and if there has been none at the school in the past two weeks If the case tested positive by means of a PCR test, the mask requirement in the classrooms is no longer required, the state government announced on Thursday. Outside the classrooms, however, the mask requirement remains in place in the school building.
