Al Akhawayn at the bedside of his students stranded abroad

Akhawayn University (AUI) supports the 100 students stranded abroad as part of exchange programs with 36 of the 400 foreign partner universities.

As part of the support actions put in place, the establishment contacted the European immigration services so that some of its students could move within the Schengen area to join family members or acquaintances. Large schools and host foreign universities – such as ESSEC Business School in Paris, The University of Texas at Austin, Washington College or Boston College – have allowed these students to stay in dormitories on university campuses even after the end of the semester. studies.

Bank transfers and other administrative procedures have been carried out for students in difficulty. Al Akhawayn also maintains permanent contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and MREs as well as the various Moroccan embassies abroad, to guarantee the planning of its students in the list of repatriations. For the students of the University in question, stranded in Japan, they were able to be repatriated on June 30.

In the other direction, around twenty students, notably from Denmark, Mexico, Italy, the United States and Afghanistan, could not leave Morocco. Al Akhawayn therefore took charge of them on its Ifrane campus until June 15, and continued to offer access beyond this date.
