National Bank of Egypt issued a statement today, Wednesday, clarifying the reality of what has been circulated in recent days about the exposure of customer data to piracy operations.
The National Bank of Egypt denied the validity of what was circulated on social media over the past days about the seriousness of dealing with electronic payments and the exposure of customer data to piracy operations, stressing that this claim is completely dishonorable.
The bank confirmed, according to a statement today, Wednesday, issued in the context of its continuous awareness to its customers, the importance of customers not trading their secret numbers or any identification data in order to preserve their financial transactions.
The bank stresses the importance of expanding electronic payments as a working method at the state level and we should not coordinate rumors aimed at questioning the system of those payments that follow the best international standards, and that electronic payment systems on approved sites are insured and the customer is provided with a secret number.
It is worth noting that the National Bank of Egypt holds multiple certificates from international bodies that enhance the integrity of the procedures for storing information and places the confidentiality of the data and accounts of its customers as a top priority in the operating system and follows the highest insurance standards for data and the mechanisms for using its electronic products.
