Khaled Al-Dirandali, Al-Ahly’s treasurer, confirmed the club’s ability to afford the Ramadan Sobhi deal for the loaned team from Huddersfield, if it was decided to sign the player permanently from his English club after the end of his loan this season.
Al-Dirndali said, in statements to the channel “On Time Sports 1”: “Of course we are able to bear the costs of the deal with Ramadan Sobhi. We have the financial capabilities that qualify us to do so.”
He added, “But that will ultimately be due to the decision of the Football Committee, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, head of Al-Ahly, that we only move through a mandate from the council.”
He continued: “I hope that Ramadan Sobhi will continue with us, but as Treasurer of Al-Ahly, I will look at the matter professionally, without emotion, as if the right alternative is available, the player’s interest will be in agreement with the club’s interest in agreement.”
Al-Dirndali went on to talk about the fate of the Egyptian League competition in light of its stoppage due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, saying that the club would be affected if the tournament was canceled.
Al-Dirndali stressed, “Certainly canceling the league will affect us negatively, whether on satellite broadcasting contracts or the sponsoring company.”
He explained: “I hope the league will return with the application of precautionary measures in the approach of many countries, such as Germany. The league will not return (Sadah Maddah), but according to specific controls.”
Al-Ahly treasurer concluded, saying: “The league will return, I feel there is a hope of its resumption through the meetings that took place with the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Prime Minister who confirmed the resumption of sports activity in mid-June.”
