The Asian airline Air China has completed all the necessary paperwork to inaugurate a new route between Havana and Beijing, capital of China, which will begin to circulate next May.

As indicated at the International Transportation and Logistics Fair held this weekend in Havana, the flight will have several stopovers between its destinations, this to make the route a little more profitable.

The president of the Cuban Aviation Corporation SA, Joel Beltrán Archer Santos, held a meeting with Chinese executives, pointing out that everything is in order to proceed and only the frequency with which the flights will be carried out remains to be confirmed.

Likewise, the prices of future tickets have not yet been determined, although the long journey seems to suggest that they are focusing on Chinese tourism to the Island, so they will not be cheap.

A flight between these two capitals would last approximately 16 hours and 25 minutes, as it must cover about 12,739 kilometers (km). In that sense, the flight would last almost 24 hours when adding the various stops.

Other flights between the Greater Antilles and Beijing have initial prices of about $3,000, so prices for the new Air China route should not vary that much, depending on factors such as date and availability.

It is important to remember that, if a Cuban citizen wishes to take advantage of the new route between these capitals, they must begin a visa application process before flying, since, despite being one of Cuba’s main allies, China requires a visa to that the Antilleans can enter their territory.

Which Process?

Those interested in applying for a visa must enter the Visa Online Application System through the link: https://cova.mfa.gov.cn.

Once there, it will be necessary to fill out the application form provided by the system. It is important to take note of the email address and code from the visa application form, as this is information that will be requested later.

After filling out the form, the confirmation page and the completed application form must be printed, which must be signed by the interested party.

Subsequently, you must appear at the Chinese Consulate or Embassy in Cuba, taking with you your original passport and the other visa application documents required by the Asian authorities.

In the case of applying for a Q2 visa, for stays of no more than 180 days, interested parties must also meet certain additional requirements, such as presenting a copy of the inviter’s passport or Chinese identity card, or a copy of the passport and permit. of permanent residence of the foreigner, as appropriate.
