Ahead of the feasibility test for TNI commander candidates, Yudo Margono brings together former commanders and KSAL

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Chief of Staff of the Navy (KSAL extension) Admiral Yudo Margono collecting eg TNI Commander and former KSAL from time to time test fit and correct or fit and proper test at I DPR RI Commission, Jakarta, Friday (2/12/2022).

I am former TNI Commander and KSAL (Purn) Admiral Agus Suharto. Meanwhile, former KSAL includes (retired) Admiral Arief Koeshariadi, (retired) Admiral Achmad Soetjipto, (retired) Admiral Bernard K Sondakh and (retired) Admiral Slamet Soebijanto.

Then Admiral (Purn) Sumardjono, Admiral (Purn) Tedjo Edhy P, Admiral (Purn) Ade Supandi and Admiral (Purn) Siwi Sukma Adji. There is also Admiral (Purn) R Subyakto’s first son KSAL i.e. Jay Subyakto.

Their attendance was to witness the unveiling of the SSAT (Integrated Fleet Weapons System) diorama and the book launch of “Jalasena Transformation of the Main Components of Marine Defense Defense” at Naval Headquarters (Mabesal), Jakarta.

“Yes, I invited him here for the inauguration at the headquarters earlier, as well as a meeting, he sat where I am sitting now,” Yudo told the headquarters.

Yudo said his elders also provided prayers and support as he went through the due diligence at DPR RI.

“Of course because he knew from the media that he would be there this afternoon test fit and correctyes definitely give the prayer, come on supportpay attention to me as a next generation,” he added.

Yudo has been officially announced as a candidate for TNI Commander to replace Andika Perkasa who will retire on December 21, 2022.

Yudo’s name was announced directly by DPR Chairman Puan Maharani after he received a presidential letter (surpres) from President Joko Widodo delivered by Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno at DPR Building, Jakarta on Monday (29/11/ 2022).

Puan believes that the president had many considerations in appointing Yudo to take command of the commander of the TNI, one of which was the issue of nationalism in the 1988 Naval Academy (AAL) abituren.

“Of course there are many things to consider performance, then nationalism, love of the motherland and so on, and I think he has met the existing requirements,” Puan said at the DPR Building on Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Pratikno revealed that the matra turnover factor was one of the president’s considerations in nominating Yudo as a candidate for TNI Commander.

Since the Jokowi administration in 2014, not a single maritime dimension figure has become commander of the TNI.

During Jokowi’s leadership period, the TNI commander’s baton was thus far filled by high-ranking officers of the ground and air forces.
