Aguascalientes, Querétaro, SLP, Guanajuato and Jalisco ready plan to activate automotive sector

The state governments of Aguascalientes, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato and Jalisco are preparing strategies to activate the automotive sector, as it is fundamental for the growth and economic development of the central region of the country and of Mexico.

This was reported by the Aguascalientes governor Martín Orozco Sandoval, but also, he assured, it is managed before the federal authorities to reactivate the activity of car assemblers that provide jobs and support to thousands of families in the country.

He said that, together with their counterparts in Jalisco, Querétaro, Guanajuato and San Luis Potosí, the economic reactivation protocols for the automotive industry are already being prepared, so that, when the Government of Mexico instructs its launch, “we are ready” .

In addition, Orozco Sandoval announced that starting next week, the State Health Services Institute (ISSEA) will meet with assembly plant authorities to jointly design the practices that will be implemented and prevent the spread of Covid- 19.

In this way, the necessary measures will be taken, in the physical work spaces and in the transport of the collaborators.

Also, Governor Orozco Sandoval considered that for Aguascalientes it is necessary to restart this sector as soon as possible, since it represents 19% of the Gross Domestic Product and generates around 120 thousand jobs.

And he reiterated that he will hold virtual meetings with the governors of the Central-Bajío-West Alliance with whom prevention measures are already being implemented to avoid contagion of coronavirus and cut transmission chains.

At the time, the head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDEC), Manuel Alejandro González Martínez, referred that the generation of jobs is an issue that constantly occupies the state government, and due to the drop that has been registered, as a result of The appearance of the Covid-19 redoubled the effort to attend to this situation.

Likewise, he mentioned that the sectors that have been most affected by the contingency are the commercial, services, transport and construction sectors; hence, the government’s actions are aimed at its economic reactivation.

He explained that for the promotion of the commercial and services sector, emerging financing programs have been implemented with various facilities and flexibilities; In addition, it seeks to promote the construction industry, through the creation of more public works.

In addition to this, SEDEC works hand in hand with companies of essential business, for a redesign in their biosafety protocols that allow them a safe return to their operations, as well as in the random sampling of their collaborators.
